Terms of Use

Sparrows is made by NG Hive, an independent studio run by Natalia Gurevich in the United States. By using the app you agree to what is written here. If you disagree, please don't use it. Questions: contact@nghive.app.

What the app does

Sparrows lets the people in one family give each other tasks, remind each other until those tasks are finished, attach a photo as proof, approve or send a task back, and turn points into rewards the family invents itself. How you use it inside your own family is up to you.

No account, and what that means

There is no sign-up, no password and no email address. Your profile lives on your phone and in your family. That has a consequence worth knowing: if you lose the phone, the profile stays behind. Another parent can hand it back to your new phone, and if you linked Sign in with Apple you can restore it yourself. We cannot identify you by email, so we cannot do it for you.

Families, parents and children

• The person who creates a family becomes a parent in it and can invite everyone else. Invite codes are meant for people you know; anyone holding a code can join.
• Parents can remove members, adjust points and limit how often reminders from children repeat. Removing a member deletes that person's tasks, points and photos.
• The app is intended to be set up by an adult. If you invite a child, you are responsible for their use of the app and for what they are asked to do through it.
• A task is private between the people in it unless its author shares it with the other parents.

The trial and the purchase

• A new family gets 14 days free, counted from the day the family was created.
• After that, one purchase — a single non-consumable item, $2.99 in the United States, priced by Apple in other regions — unlocks the app for the whole family: every parent, every child, every phone.
• It is not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.
• Anyone in the family can buy it; whoever does unlocks it for everyone.
• The purchase is tied to the Apple ID that made it and can be restored on a new phone with “Restore purchase”.
• Payments go through Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Ask through your purchase history in the App Store.
• While a family is locked, the data stays: your tasks, points and rewards are waiting when you unlock it.

Your content

Tasks, comments and photos you put into the app stay yours. You give us only what we need to run the service: storing that content on our server and delivering it to the other people in your family. We do not use it for anything else, we do not show it to anyone outside your family, and we do not use it for advertising.

Please don't upload anything illegal, and don't upload photos of other people who would not want them shared — the photo is visible to the people in that task.

Using it decently

The reminders exist to help a household run, not to hound somebody. Don't use Sparrows to harass a member of your family, and don't use it to break the law. We may block access if the app is used that way.

What we do not promise

• Notifications reach you through your phone, its permissions, the network and Apple's service. Any of those can fail or be switched off, so a reminder can be late or missed.
• Do not use Sparrows for anything critical — medication, medical appointments, safety-related tasks. Use a tool built for that.
• The service is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it running and to keep your data safe, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable or that data can never be lost.
• To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid for the app.

Ending it

You can leave the family at any time from Settings; that deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken.

Changes

These terms may change as the app grows. The date at the top shows when they last did, and we will point out anything important inside the app.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where the consumer-protection law of your own country requires otherwise.
